Killeen Cottage
addition & renovation
County Cork, Ireland

Special care and attention were taken in designing additions for this charming Irish cottage, dating back to the early 1800’s, so as not to overwhelm the delicate scale of the original. A small gable roofed kitchen addition on the north end of the house offers commanding views of Dunmanus Bay on Ireland’s rugged southwest coast. A second small addition off the back of the cottage incorporates a master bedroom, master bath, powder room and winding stairway to the Second Floor.
Complimenting the main house is a small stone-faced Guest Cottage, which integrates with the sloping terrain to form a series of terraced gardens and private outdoor spaces at the rear of the property.
