Olde Covered Wagon Inn

historic restoration

Wayne, PA | 1,200 SF

At a bustling intersection of Lancaster Ave sits an overlooked but undoubtedly charming masonry building that anchors the site of a new retail shopping center. The structure, once known as the Olde Covered Wagon Inn, became the center of a community effort to save the building from demolition. With local preservationists triumphant in their pursuit, we were brought on board to help with the conservation and restoration of the 1780’s architectural gem.

The thoughtful and careful restoration of the building included repairs to the masonry skin and roof, addition of shutters, and new signage to mimic the historic 1700s facade. The once unnoticed building now has passersby taking note and curious of the building’s historical significance and past.
