Easttown Township Police Station and Municipal Facility

award-winning adaptive reuse, multi-purpose facility

Devon, PA | 12,000 SF

Located on 25 acres of rolling hillside in suburban Philadelphia, this adaptive reuse of a 19th century carriage house/barn contains the township’s police station and administrative offices.

The design employs environmentally sensitive principles: a geothermal heat pump system, use of materials that minimize ‘off-gassing’, and operable windows for natural ventilation.

Architectural design and detailing was derived from the 19th century vernacular of the barn. Salvaged artifacts such as doors, hinges and existing stone walls were integrated into the project.
