preschool expansion and improvements

Located on the ground floor of the Gladwyne Presbyterian Church, The Wetherill School is a small, private preschool. HSA was tasked with examining and analyzing the school’s existing interior and exterior spaces and developing options for expansion and improvement. To maintain the residential scale of the campus, two modest additions and interior renovations were proposed. The additions would provide space for a new entrance vestibule, a new classroom, and a multi-purpose room, while the interior renovations would improve the quality of the existing classrooms and circulation. 

HSA met with the school’s director, teachers and church leaders to develop a conceptual design that would allow the school to grow in place while keeping in mind the church’s needs.
